About Digital Medicine Vietnam

Connecting digital innovation with meaningful healthcare impact

Digital Medicine Vietnam is a multidisciplinary initiative advancing the responsible and evidence-based use of digital technologies in health and healthcare in Viet Nam.

We bring together perspectives from healthcare, research, technology, education and policy to help translate digital innovation into solutions that are safe, clinically meaningful, locally relevant and capable of delivering measurable value.

WHO WE ARE

A multidisciplinary platform for Digital Medicine

Digital Medicine Vietnam is developed and operated by VietnamWellcare.

The initiative was established in response to the growing need for a more structured connection between digital innovation and healthcare practice in Viet Nam.

Digital Medicine is not defined by technology alone. Meaningful implementation requires clearly identified health needs, appropriate evidence, reliable technologies, responsible data use, patient safety, workforce capability and effective integration into healthcare workflows.

Digital Medicine Vietnam provides a platform for knowledge exchange, professional engagement and collaboration across the healthcare and innovation ecosystem.

OUR MISSION

To advance the responsible and evidence-based use of digital technologies in health and healthcare through education, implementation, research and multidisciplinary collaboration.

A future in which digital technologies are selected, evaluated and implemented according to real health needs, appropriate evidence and clearly defined responsibilities, contributing to safer, more accessible, personalised and effective healthcare in Viet Nam.

WHY DIGITAL MEDICINE VIETNAM

Responding to a changing healthcare landscape

Viet Nam is experiencing rapid development in electronic health records, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, connected medical technologies, health applications and digitally supported models of care.

These developments create important opportunities to improve access, continuity, measurement and personalisation. They also raise questions that must be addressed before technologies are introduced or scaled:

  • Does the technology address a clearly defined health or healthcare need?

  • Is the available evidence appropriate to its intended purpose and claims?

  • Can it be integrated safely into clinical and operational workflows?

  • Are patient data, privacy and cybersecurity adequately protected?

  • Are responsibilities for monitoring, decisions and escalation clearly defined?

  • Is the solution accessible, usable and relevant to the Vietnamese context?

  • Does it deliver measurable value for patients, healthcare professionals and health systems?

Digital Medicine Vietnam seeks to encourage informed discussion and practical approaches to these questions.

OUR CONTRIBUTION

Digital Medicine Vietnam contributes to the development of the field in three complementary ways.

Translating Evidence into Practice

We help make international knowledge, evidence and good practices more accessible and relevant to healthcare implementation in Viet Nam.

Connecting Disciplines and Sectors

We support dialogue and collaboration among healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, technology developers and other stakeholders involved in digital medicine.

Supporting Locally Relevant Development

We promote approaches that reflect Viet Nam’s healthcare needs, infrastructure, workforce, population and evolving regulatory environment.

Bridging evidence, technology and healthcare practice
